About Us

Who are we and what are we all about?

GSC is a co-retail & incubator space featuring a collection of innovative, mission-based brands, and local artisans.

GSC is home to over 60 local businesses, including a mix of permanent anchor stores and a rotating mix of micro shops and creators.

You can purchase gift cards to the whole store and gift baskets on this website, as well as a curated selection of seasonal items. Visit the merchant directory for links to each shop's e-commerce store.

Some of you may know us from the month-long holiday pop-up shops we ran in South Orange and Millburn, where you could find gifts for the whole family from local makers and businesses.  You can think of our flagship marketplace and cafe on Springfield Avenue in Maplewood as the permanent mothership for those pop ups.  We seasonally rotate a selection of local wares and artists through the store, and we’re always bringing in new people and products!

 Who are our anchor shops?

We have several super cool businesses that share space with us on a more permanent basis like Good Bottle Refill Shop (New Jersey’s first zero waste refill shop), Dry Goods Refillery (a plastic and package-free pantry), Three Daughter’s Baking Company (featuring savory and sweet options, a full-espresso bar, and custom cakes), Maplewood Wheelhouse (a mecca for cheese lovers), Mrs. Meshugga (whimsical and locally themed clothing and home goods), Outpost by Kitchen a la mode (family cooking and eating essentials and cocktail wares), Sadie’s Maplewood (clothes for kids from ethical brands), Fare Trade Customs (functional art and woodworking) and Alysian (artisan made jewelry and home accessories).

The space is also home to our house brand Speakeasy.  Speakeasy celebrates cocktail culture and features a collection of cocktail makings, accessories, and zero proof beverages.
